Hillary Will Take Care Of Us??

As I was getting ready for the day, I flipped on Fox News and heard Hillary’s live speech in Ohio.  As Ohio has some economic problems, she is focused on the economy and playing to the fears of people in that great state.  In her speech, she gave an example of a man that has to drive 70 miles every day to work, and thus suggested he can’t afford his gasoline cost.  Hillary seemed to show great empathy for this him.  Thus her solution was very simple.  Elect Hillary and she won’t let this happen to him.

First, Hillary has no control over the price of gasoline or oil just as George Bush has no control.  Second, the guy in her example can simply move.  Yes, that would cost him money to move, disrupt his family, and cause him an overall major change in life.  Yet, it is not Hillary’s job to make his life easier.  We became a great country because of individualism.  It was not because the government cared if it cost us too much to live 70 miles from our job.  What is my idea for this man?  MOVE if you can’t afford the drive or find a new job.  I have moved for jobs many times in my life, so can everyone else if that is what is needed to take care of your family.

We just have to quit looking for the government to take care of us.  In Ronald Reagan’s words, the government is the problem.  For the life of me I don’t understand why this country is moving toward socialism, it is a poison proven by history.

Hillary to the rescue! Was that the best example Hillary could find to convince the people of Ohio that she’s their man, I mean woman? How is she planning on helping him? Waive his tax hike? These liberals just like to keep ‘em dependent. It keeps them in power. I know several great realestate agents that could help this man a lot more than Hillary. Maybe they’ll decide to run in 2012.

I totally disagree. To say that people can move. Sure it might be an easy thing to do, but it takes money to move as well. As a liberal, I think that the government can work for the little guy. The reason why the government does not work is because the people in power hate the government, so of course it wont work. Personally, I believe Bush has messed up this country. My question to all the Republicans are, How much does a loaf of bread costs? How much does it take to fill up your cars? How much is a gallon of milk? How much is a gallon of oj? As for Ronald Reagin, He raised taxes! My mother always told me that when the Republians get in office, we eat beans, but when the democrats get in, we eat steaks. I frankly miss steaks. Now I am a vegetarian, not by choice, but because I can afford a 25 cent can of corn.

First of all Reagan did not raise federal taxes but lowered them. Second of all republicans have to buy groceries too, the cost is the same. It’s not the job of the government to determine how much money you make. That would be socialism and we all know how well that works.

clise, thanks for your comments. It is always nice to hear a different view.

Reagan did not raise federal taxes, he lowered them. It was an incredible time period of Reagan that required drastic action. Both Reagan, and a Democrat controlled congress, lowered taxes. It worked just as when JFK did it twenty years earlier.

I am not a Republican or Democrat, but instead a conservative. I have to buy groceries just like everyone else. The issue for me is that I have to take care of myself, not depend on the government. I grew up in a loving family, but not wealth or power. My success came from hard work, a lot of eduction that took me 15 years to pay off, and pure determination. I moved when I needed to move for jobs, even when I could not afford it. For me, i am going to depend on myself not the government.

I am not sure who the “little guy” would be, probably my parents and me at one time. But, power and success rests with those that take it. It’s still the greatest country on earth.
